# TIDEL Scholarly Symposium Faith, Ethics, and Digital Transformation

Join TIDEL for a two-day convening exploring the ethical, theological, social, and institutional implications of technological change in an era of rapid innovation and profound social transformation.

Founded in 2022, TIDEL is a Union Theological Seminary–based initiative that brings together faith leaders, scholars, technologists, nonprofit practitioners, and public leaders to explore ethical, justice-centered, and collaborative approaches to technology, innovation, and digital engagement.

You do NOT have to register to submit a paper. All paper submissions are at no cost. 3 papers will be selected per theme. If your paper is selected, your registration fee will be waived.

Registration for the symposium is open to all. You DO NOT have to submit a paper in order to attend the symposium.

Sessions, panel discussions, and interdisciplinary dialogue among scholars, practitioners, technologists, faith leaders, and graduate students exploring critical questions at the intersection of technology, theology, ethics, innovation, and public life.

### Reimagining Human Flourishing in the Digital Age

Disruptive inquiry into how AI, automation, and digital ecosystems reshape identity, belonging, meaning-making, and spiritual life --- and what it means to thrive when the boundaries between human and machine blur.

### Racial Justice in the Digital Public Square
Unapologetic interrogation of how technology amplifies or dismantles systems of racial power. Examining algorithmic bias, platform monopolies, digital redlining, and the urgent fight for an equitable, democratic digital public square.

### The Futuring of Faith Communities: Digital Religion, Leadership, and Belonging

Forward-looking inquiry into how digital culture, online ritual, hybrid community, and emerging tools are reshaping religious leadership, congregational life, and the meaning of belonging — and how faith communities can cultivate resilient, imaginative futures.
