GOVTECH-ETHICS 2026 brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working on the ethical, legal, and societal foundations of emerging technologies. The workshop addresses the growing gap between the pace of technological development and the governance structures meant to guide it. As AI, blockchain, decentralized infrastructures, and data-driven systems move into critical domains, questions of accountability, transparency, fairness, and human oversight can no longer be afterthoughts. The workshop invites conceptual, empirical, and design-oriented work, along with case studies and position papers, on governing these technologies responsibly across their lifecycle. Our aim is to connect technical research with legal, ethical, and policy perspectives toward practical mechanisms for responsible innovation.
