Political Perspectives: Journal Issue Call for Papers
Uncertain Times through the Eyes of Contemporary Politics Research Current PhD students and early career researchers are working in times of global uncertainty. The war in Ukraine, the cost of living crisis, tensions over Taiwan, widespread, industrial action, and the global repercussions of COVID-19 are among the abiding political challenges of recent years. Longer term debates rage over the efficacy of environmental COP summits, culture war clashes, the health of democracy across the globe, the legacy of Brexit, and the (ab)uses of social media. These debates are not just objects of study for politics researchers but form a complex landscape which academics must navigate. Politics researchers steer through these turbulent times in a wide range of ways, embracing innovative methods, challenging dominant theoretical frameworks and destabilising established orthodoxies. Political Perspectives invites papers that deal with these themes, as well as other important issues. The burning debates which set the scene for the beginning of 2023 inform the work of scholars across both national and disciplinary borders. Contributions are welcome from all sub-disciplines, and submissions are encouraged from other approaches in the field of social science that are relevant to politics. We seek to draw together the latest theoretical and empirical research from PhD students and early career researchers, covering a range of articles dealing with contemporary political issues and challenges. Submission deadlines 23rd June 2023 26th October 2023 Authors are invited to submit to either deadline. Priority will be given to papers submitted in June for our next issue. Papers should be submitted through our online form. Website: https://sites.manchester.ac.uk/political-perspectives/ Email: political.perspectives.uom@gmail.com Twitter: @PoliPerspec |
