Call For Papers

We are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for the sixth annual Graduate Student Symposium at Saint Paul University. This year's theme is Innovative, Restorative & Transformative Shifts in Conflict Studies: Opportunities & Challenges. The bilingual (English-French) symposium will be held online on January 27-28, 2022.

Conflict Studies has seen increasing diversification and growth in the past few years. The field has come to include more than traditional warfare and conflict to areas such as asymmetrical warfare, social justice, nonviolent civil resistance, interrogations of power, gender, ecology, and much more. The symposium's theme seeks to highlight and explore these opportunities and challenges in the field. Potential topics for the symposium may include but are not limited to: conflict theories, peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and emerging dimensions of conflict such as the environment, human security, multiculturalism, gender, religion, and ideology.
