Call For Papers

The International Academy (IAHE) supports teaching and research in Educational Science and the transfer of scientific knowledge in the world of education between Western, Central and Eastern European countries and countries outside Europe, with a view towards the humanization of a free, democratic and socially just educational system. The main aim of the Academy is the furthering of the exchange of knowledge and innovative experience in the world of education between the countries of Europe and other continents. (cf. Para. 2, S 1 of the Academy's Statutes)

The task of the Academy is therefore to look for ways in which the humanization of education can be promoted against the background of present-day social, political and technological changes.

Educational institutions must be sensitive to the global challenges of our time: the growth of conflicts between countries and peoples, the preservation of the environment, the fight against poverty in the world, increased migration and intercultural conflicts.

Technological changes, digitalization of the economy and all spheres of life are rapidly changing the approaches to education, methods of communication and interaction between teachers and students. There is a transition from teaching to learning, the role of distance learning, intergenerational and intercultural dialogue is growing. In this context, the problem of effective leadership in education is becoming especially relevant. A modern leader in education is not only the head of an educational organization, but also a teacher who is able to create professional teams to develop leadership and selfmanagement skills among his students, as well as interact with the local and regional community.

Each country defines its national priorities and approaches to leadership. IAHE is that unique platform for all interested in education development. This platform allows to exchange views on the issue of leadership and determine effective strategies for its development in a culturally diverse

Thus the theme of the IAHE annual conference will be:

Leadership in education — global challenges, technological changes, national priorities.

In addition to the main lectures on the conference theme three thematic areas have been identified:
Subtheme I: Educator as a leader in the classroom, student group, school, university.
Subtheme II: Educator as a leader in the local, regional and global community.
Subtheme III: Educator as a leader in the digital world.

The International Conference "Leadership in education — global challenges, technological changes, national priorities" will be held at Novgorod State University in Veliky Novgorod, Russia, on May, 18-20, 2020.


The conference results in:
A conference book of abstracts (published free of charge).
Participants of the conference have an opportunity to submit their papers for publication in the journal "The European Proceedings of Social & Behavioural Sciences (EpSBS)" (Open Access), indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) base, the language of the publication is English. The articles recommended by the Conference Program Committee will be accepted for publication. Fee for the publication of the article: article in Russian — 17 500 rubles, article in English — 200 Euro (approx.). Details for payment of registration fees will be sent to the authors after acceptance of the article.
Official languages of the conference are English and Russian.
