Call For Papers


The School for Public and International Affairs, and the Center for Democracy at Virginia International University are organizing a Conference on Politics, Conflict and Development to take place on April 15th and 16th, 2016 at Virginia International University in Fairfax, VA. This year’s theme is Power Shifts: Conflict, Emergencies, and Global Response. The conference will take place in Fairfax, VA, (30 min away from downtown Washington DC)

The key themes for the Conference area:
• International Emergency Response to Complex Crises
• Political Conflicts and Regional Implications
• Political Transitions, Democratization, and the Spread of Authoritarianism
• New Trends in International Relations
• Changing Roles of International Organizations
• Development Challenges in Conflict Areas

The deadline for abstract submission is March 15, 2016. All accepted participants will be notified by April 4, 2016.
