Do you teach courses in dramatic literature, play analysis, script analysis, or theatre history? Do you worry about your students’ use of AI and its impact on their ability to read, analyze, and write critically about theatre and drama? The Comparative Drama Conference is putting together a pre-organized discussion panel on AI-resistant strategies for teaching dramatic literature. This panel invites faculty, instructors, or teaching assistants in theatre or literature who are developing inventive assignments, lesson plans, and/or methods of evaluation that serve as alternatives to traditional papers and exams.
The 49th annual Comparative Drama Conference will take place from July 7-9, 2027 in London, hosted by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Participants should expect to participate in an in-person panel of short (7-10 min.) presentations on their pedagogical intervention and a subsequent roundtable discussion.
Please send a brief (~250-word) abstract describing your pedagogical approach, assignment or intervention along with a short bio, including affiliation and appointment to panel organizer Victoria Scrimer (vscrimer@millikin.edu) by 1/31/27.
