International journal Sign Systems Studies (https://ojs.utlib.ee/index.php/sss/index) has opened a call for papers dedicated to relationship between Leibniz and semiotics, understood in its broadest sense as the reflection on signs and languages. Alongside invited contributions, the issue will include a limited number of articles selected through this open call (extended call at: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23033177).

The issue welcomes contributions from scholars working in semiotics, philosophy, intellectual history, linguistics, cultural theory, and related fields. Proposals may address either of two complementary directions:

• Past dialogues: the role of Leibnizian ideas within the history of linguistic and semiotic thought, including explicit engagements and indirect influence.

• Future dialogues: the potential of Leibnizian concepts to contribute to the contemporary debate on signs, language, and culture.

Please send an abstract of 300–400 words, together with a proposed title, your name and affiliation, and a brief biographical note, to both guest editors by 1 December 2026:

Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be invited to submit their full articles by 1 September 2027. All submitted articles will then undergo the standard peer-review process of Sign Systems Studies; selection of an abstract does not imply acceptance of the final article.
