CR Payments Research Partnership: Showcasing Original Research on the Future of Payments

Central Bank Payments Conference (CBPC) | Bangkok, Thailand | 15-17 March 2027

As part of the 11th Central Bank Payments Conference (CBPC), which is being held in Bangkok Thailand, 15–17 March 2027, Currency Research will host the second edition of the CR Payments Research Partnership, a showcase for cutting-edge original research on payments conducted by central banks, regulators, government agencies, academic institutions, commercial banks, and other commercial organizations.

This initiative provides a unique platform for researchers and policy analysts to present recently completed studies to an audience of senior payment executives during a dedicated session at the Central Bank Payments Conference.

Eligibility & Scope

We welcome submissions of original research completed no earlier than September 2026. The research must be directly related to the field of payments, including, but not limited to:

• Cross-Border Payments
• Digital Money: CBDCs, Stablecoins, and Tokenization
• Payments Fraud and Scams
• Agentic AI and Payments
• Cyber Resilience and Quantum Preparedness
• Payments Sovereignty
• Payment System Interoperability

Submissions must offer empirical analysis, theoretical models, policy insights, or practical applications relevant to the payments community. Papers with practical applications for regulators will be prioritized.

How to Apply

Interested researchers are invited to submit:

1. Full research paper or near-final draft (in PDF format)
2. Short bio of the presenter(s), including institutional affiliation and contact details

Please email your submission to papers@currency-research.com no later than Monday 11 January 2027.

Submissions will be reviewed by a committee of senior advisors from the CBPC program board. Selected authors will be invited to present their work during a dedicated session at the 2027 Central Bank Payments Conference in Bangkok.
