Overview
------------------------------- As quantum computers are starting to be integrated into HPC facilities, challenges arise across the full stack to ensure effective HPC–quantum cooperation. These challenges range from integrating heterogeneous software stacks, to efficiently allocating and scheduling shared resources, and identifying suitable near-term applications that justify on-premise HPC integration as opposed to exclusive cloud-based access. Q‑WORKS aims to gather HPC and quantum experts to collect the latest advancements in the integration of quantum computers within HPC facilities. The workshop serves as a venue for multiple, sometimes non-intersecting communities — quantum software experts, systems software experts, researchers from hosting entities, representatives from European and nationally funded projects (e.g., EUROQHPC‑I, EuroHPC Centres of Excellence), and hardware vendors — to convene and exchange experiences on integrating and programming quantum computers in an HPC environment. Topics of Interest ------------------------------- Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished work on topics including, but not limited to: Efficient quantum resource allocation Workload characterization for HPC–quantum systems HPC–Quantum applications and use cases Quantum–classical software stacks Programming models for HPC–Quantum applications Benchmarking and performance evaluation Scheduling in hybrid quantum–classical environments Integration of heterogeneous software stacks Near-term quantum applications for HPC Co-design of hardware and software for hybrid systems Workflow languages for hybrid execution environments EU project activities (e.g., EUROQHPC‑I) Important Dates ------------------------------- Paper submission deadline: May 15, 2026 Author notification deadline: June 12, 2026 Camera-ready deadline: July 10, 2026 Workshop sessions: 24–25 August 2026 Submission Guidelines ------------------------------- Authors are invited to submit papers formatted using the Springer LNCS template. Page limits Full papers: up to 12 pages (references included) — published in Springer proceedings if accepted Short papers: up to 10 pages (references included) — presented at workshop, not included in Springer proceedings Submissions must represent original work not previously published or under review elsewhere. Reviews will be handled through the Euro‑Par 2026 EasyChair instance, with each submission receiving at least three reviews.
