Call For Papers

Scope

In our ever-evolving technological landscape, autonomous systems have emerged as pivotal players, reshaping industries and revolutionizing human interactions with the world around us. From surveillance systems that enhance security to irrigation systems that optimize resource usage, and from drones and robots that perform ubiquitous tasks to civilian surveillance systems that raise critical ethical questions – autonomous systems have become integral to our lives. This workshop seeks to delve into the intricate interplay between the technical prowess of autonomous systems, the ethical dilemmas they evoke, and the indispensable role of human interaction in their operation.

While these systems showcase remarkable independence, they are not isolated entities. Human interaction remains vital as autonomous systems may require occasional intervention, whether for issuing warnings, scheduling maintenance, or providing updates on emerging trends. Therefore, understanding the fusion of technology and human agency is paramount.

Topics

We invite researchers, practitioners, and visionaries to contribute to our workshop on the Technical and Ethical Aspects of Autonomous Systems. We welcome submissions that explore a diverse array of themes, including but not limited to:

1. Technical Advancements in Autonomous Systems:

Modeling, analysis, verification and maintenance
Control algorithms and mechanisms
Sensor fusion and perception technologies
Autonomous Decision-making
Connectivity and communication architectures, and IoT integration
Data analytics and machine learning techniques
2. Ethical Implications of Autonomous Systems:

Privacy concerns in surveillance and civilian monitoring
Bias and fairness in algorithmic decision-making
Accountability and transparency of autonomous systems
Social and psychological impacts on individuals and communities
Legal and regulatory frameworks for autonomous technologies
3. Case Studies and Applications:

Autonomous irrigation and precision agriculture
Drone technology for surveillance, delivery, and exploration
Smart city applications and urban planning
Humanitarian uses of autonomous systems
Challenges and opportunities in integrating autonomy into existing systems
4. Human-Autonomy Interaction:
