Call For Papers

MCubed returns to London from October 12 to 14, 2020. The event will help software developers, team leaders and data scientists to get familiar with the concepts underlying machine learning, AI and advanced analytics, determine how their tech and business operation would benefit from the technology and techniques, and explore how to get these ideas into production.

MCubed invites interested parties to submit proposals for talks (45 minutes) and training sessions (seven hours).

The deadline for proposals is March 30, 2020.

Speakers and instructors will get free entrance to both conference days and in some circumstances we may provide expenses and accommodation. If you would like to be considered for these reimbursements, please contact us once you submitted your proposal.

Entrants should be aware of our Code of Conduct and keep it in mind while drafting their proposals.

Proposals can include, but are not limited to, one or more of the following topics:

Basics

Machine learning (neural networks, bayesian networks, CRFs, SVMs, genetic/evolutionary algorithms, decision trees,…)
Data science
Predictive analytics
Pattern recognition
Computer vision
Natural language processing, image and voice recognition
Text generation
Model evaluation, accuracy measures
Explainable AI
Knowledge acquisition, representation, networks
Transferring classic software development approaches to machine learning (development, testing, versioning etc.)
Tools & Services

Machine learning libraries and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
Tools for data collection and analysis
ML services (IBM Watson, Amazon Lex, Amazon Rekognition, Amazon SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning, Google Cloud AI Platform, Databricks MLR,…)
Frameworks and computing platforms including CUDA, OpenCL,…
The emphasis will be hands-on introductions, conceptual decisions, live demos, or comparisons of different techniques. Presentations that are based solely on promoting a product will not be allowed.

Production

Distributed machine learning
Integration with legacy systems and software pipelines
CI/CD for machine learning
Shadow mode deployments
Continuous model updating / counteracting model degradation
Security, data safety
UI/UX
Supporting infrastructure
Managing rollouts
Misc

Smart anything (home, city, metering, traffic control, autonomous driving, crime prediction, fraud detection, chatbots…)
Applying AI technologies to what’s already there
Designing AI products from scratch
Intelligent agents/systems
Ethics (decision making, data collection, etc.), privacy
Computational creativity
Affective and cognitive computing

Please send a target-group-specific, precise and concise abstract (400-700 characters) of your proposed presentation. To help us assess your proposals, we would also like you to list some keywords (e.g. your main topic, the tools you use, etc.), and include one sentence describing what your audience should already know and what they can expect to learn during the talk respectively. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2020. The conference schedule will be available online by May 2020.

If you’re short on speaking experience and need help with your proposal, we’re happy to assist you via email.

To ensure objectivity, the review process is anonymised, which means that the editorial board doesn’t know a proposer’s name or company during the first stage of discussing a proposal. Talks with the sole purpose of marketing your product aren’t eligible for the review process.
