Call For Papers

Introduction
Our future society will be increasingly digitized, hyper-connected and globally data driven. Mobile communication technologies are expected to progress far beyond anything seen so far in wireless-enabled applications, making everyday lives smoother and safer and dramatically improving the efficiency of businesses. As fifth generation (5G) research is maturing towards a global standard, we in the research community must focus on the development of beyond-5G solutions and the 2030 era, that is, 6G, and beyond. It is not clear yet what 6G will entail. It will undoubtedly include relevant technologies considered too immature for 5G or which are outside the defined scope of 5G. More specifically, the way in which data is collected, processed, transmitted and consumed within the wireless network will be a key driver for 6G. Enabling this vision requires addressing a myriad of theoretical and practical challenges. These next-generation wireless networks must support ultra-reliable, low-latency communication and intelligently manage a massive number of Internet of Things, or even Internet of Everything and Future internet of Everything devices in real-time, within a highly dynamic environment. At the same time, the generation and consumption of wireless data are becoming increasingly distributed with an ongoing paradigm shift from people-centric to machine-oriented communications, making the operation of future wireless networks even more complex. This need for stringent communication quality-of-service requirements as well as mobile edge and core intelligence can only be realized by integrating fundamental notions of artificial intelligence and deep learning across the wireless infrastructure and end-user devices, where systematic exploitation of the big data dramatically helps in making the system smart, intelligent, and facilitates efficient as well as cost-effective operation and optimization. Enabling the vision requires addressing a myriad of theoretical and practical challenges.

Objective
5G mobile communication is still in a nascent stage and on account of carriers proceeding cautiously with this technology, its potential has not yet been fully realized. We are yet to see just how 5G itself can provide lightning-fast connectivity, affording a world of close to zero-lag that would permit surgeons to perform surgery with the aid of robotics from across the world, and live sports events projected in holograms, untethered virtual reality streaming, which are just three examples of the possibilities among a raft of next-generation use cases. But that is not stopping futurist researchers already identifying limitations and exploring what the next iterative phase will hold. Logic suggests that 6G will offer further extreme reductions in latency and ever-faster downloads speeds - potentially reaching 1 terabit/second, an outstanding jump from the 20 gigabits that 5G offers to date. We will thus be calling for highly innovative, state-of-the-art contributions in the form of original papers in all areas related to 6G research where authors would investigate artificial intelligence-enabled sixth generation (6G) wireless networks. Scholars will be expected to discuss the emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, terahertz communications, optical wireless technology, free space optic network, blockchain, three-dimensional networking, quantum communications, unmanned aerial vehicle, cell-free communications, integration of wireless information and energy transfer, integration of sensing and communication, integration of access-backhaul networks, dynamic network slicing, holographic beamforming, and big data analytics that can assist the 6G architecture development in guaranteeing the quality of service. The potential applications should be associated with the requirements and the possible technologies for 6G communication, which would include the possible challenges and research directions to reach this goal.
