Call For Papers

The 27th International Conference on Information, Communication and Automation Technologies will be held in Sarajevo, October 20-23, 2019. The conference is organized by Faculty of Electrical Engineering Sarajevo and technically co-sponsored by: IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Controls Systems Society and IEEE B&H Section.
Within the ICAT conference, a special session on Blockchain technology will be organized.

Abstract: Distributed ledger technologies (DLT) are generating a lot of attention of the wider public as well as within professional and scientific circles. Blockchain as a part of DLT has undergone a 10-year evolution since its first application. Several core industries are already identified that can benefit the most from blockchain technology integration. Nevertheless, there should be defined strategies for its wise use, which propose the right steps to reach appropriate blockchain integration, while avoid any possible backfire – considering the numerous specifics of this technology. Currently, the technology has attracted enough scientific and professional interest, resulting in various examples of blockchain technology applications, while also enlightening several challenges yet to be tackled such as scalability, efficiency, privacy, security, user-friendliness of decentralized applications, etc. This special session should bring together practitioners and researchers for sharing knowledge and innovative ideas on general and specific topics in connection with the DLT. The aim is to promote any type of cutting-edge research on the DLT from both academia and industry, which would give insight into the potential of its various technologies, innovative approaches, concepts, techniques, guidelines etc., with a special focus on Blockchain and possible solutions to its open challenges, as well as engineering-oriented approaches, which would contribute to the advances in the innovation, practice and education.

List of Topics

The special issue welcomes contributions of the following generic topics, but is not limited to them:
• DLT architectures and platforms
