Final Call for DependSys 2019 Work-in-Progress (WiP) Papers with 10+ Keynotes, 19+ Special Issues, and 13+ Co-Located Conferences/Symposiums/Workshops.

============================== DependSys 2019 ==============================

The 5th International Conference on Dependability in Sensor, Cloud, and Big Data Systems and Applications (DependSys 2019)
November 12-15, 2019, Guangzhou, China

http://www.dependsys.org/DependSys2019/

WiP Paper Submission Deadline: August 10, 2019 (Firm Deadline)

============================================================================

The 5th International Conference on Dependability in Sensor, Cloud, and Big Data Systems and Applications (DependSys 2019) will provide a forum for both academia and industry professionals to present their latest research findings in different aspects of dependability issues. In addition to full-length regular papers, the DependSys 2019 conference welcomes Work-in-Progress (WiP) papers showing innovative and original research in the areas of dependability. Submissions from both industry and academia are strongly encouraged.

WiP papers are expected to report on early or ongoing research activities. The WiP session will provide a forum to discuss novel ideas and emerging results, presenting innovative applications and tools, and bring about novel research questions, approaches, and directions.

Submission Guidelines

WiP papers may be no more than 12 pages in length, or at most 4 additional pages with the pages overlength charge, including figures, tables, and references.

WiP papers are expected to present early or ongoing research activities. Novel approaches and preliminary results are especially appreciated.

The submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by members of the DependSys 2019 Technical Program Committee. All selected papers will be orally presented in a special conference session. At least one author of each accepted paper must register and attend the conference to present the work. The accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings by Springer LNCS, and will be included in the Digital Library in Springer.

Authors are requested to submit original, unpublished manuscripts in standard Springer LNCS proceedings format (https://www.springer.com/cn/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines) through the conference website (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dependsys2019) with PDF format. When submitting, please select the appropriate Track for your paper (i.e., WiP). Submitted papers must include the contact information of all the authors. Please make sure you use the latest version of the templates to prepare your submissions. Due to the short interval between the notification of acceptance and the camera-ready deadline, we strongly encourage authors to follow the camera-ready formatting guidelines as close as possible.

Best Work-in-Progress Paper Award

The DependSys 2019 conference will be offering an award recognizing the Best Work-in-Progress Paper presented at the conference. During the Work-in-Progress session, your paper will be reviewed by a judging panel selected from the conference organizing and program committee. Your paper will be judged based on the novelty, quality of research undertaken and clarity of presentation. The Best Work-in-Progress Paper will receive an Award Certificate.

Dependability in Sensor, Cloud, and Big Data Systems and Applications

The focus of the 5th International Conference on Dependability in Sensor, Cloud, and Big Data Systems and Applications (DependSys 2019) is to create a forum for individuals, academics, practitioners, and organizations, who are developing or procuring sophisticated computer systems on whose dependability of services they need to place great confidence. Future systems need to close the dependability gap in face of challenges in different circumstances. The emphasis will be on differing properties of such services, e.g., continuity, effective performance, real-time responsiveness, ability to overcome data fault/corruption/anomaly, ability to avoid catastrophic failures, prevention of deliberate privacy intrusions, reliability, availability, sustainability, adaptability, heterogeneity, security, safety, and so on. Two outstanding papers will be selected to receive the Best Paper Awards.
