Online advertising is a key component in the whole internet ecosystem and is growing rapidly with constantly evolving business models and practices. This fertile economic environment brought about large volumes of data along with challenging data mining problems. Following on the success of ADKDD 2007, 2008, 2009, ADKDD 2010 is to be held in Washington D.C., in conjunction with KDD 2010, to provide a high-level international forum for the academic community and the industry to present the state of the art of algorithms and applications of advertising.




Papers on all aspects of data mining and audience intelligence for advertising are solicited. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

? Mining for Ad Relevance and Ranking
o Ad relevance measurement
o Ad ranking algorithms
o Ad text creation and evaluation

? Audience Intelligence & User Modeling
o Understanding user intent
o Modeling online user behaviors for targeted advertisement

o Content-targeted advertising
o Opinion/sentiment mining
o Web scale information extraction for online advertisement
o Text mining techniques such as named entity extraction, query classification, keyword extraction, and other topics
o Understanding multimedia content for online advertisement

? Search Engine Marketing, Optimization (SEMs, SEOs)

? Other Topics in Advertising
o Advertising through social networks and microblogging (such as facebook and twitter)
o Advertising on new channels such as mobile devices
o Measurement of online advertising effectiveness
o Consumer privacy and data use policy
o Privacy preserving data mining approaches
o Fraud and spam detection & prevention in online advertisements

Length of paper: 9 pages or less in ACM template

Format: PDF, US Letter (8.5" x 11").

Important Dates


May 10, 2010: Electronic submission of full papers

May 24, 2010: Author notification

May 31, 2010: Submission of Camera-ready papers

July 25, 2010: Workshop in Washington D.C.


Publication Plans


1. The initial Workshop papers will be published with the ACM SIGKDD 2010 conference CD

2. The workshop proceedings will be added to ACM Digital Library along with the main conference proceedings.

3. One or two papers will be recommended to SIGKDD Explorations.

4. Depending on the quality of accepted papers by ADKDD'10, we may publish a special issue with ACM TIST.
