=================================================== FogCom 2019 ========================================================== The 2019 International Workshop on Fog Computing Technologies and Applications (FogCom 2019) November 12-15, 2019, Guangzhou, China http://blockchain.whu.edu.cn/fc2019/ In Conjunction with ================================================= DependSys 2019 ========================================================== The 5th International Conference on Dependability in Sensor, Cloud, and Big Data Systems and Applications (DependSys 2019) November 12-15, 2019, Guangzhou, China http://www.dependsys.org/DependSys2019/ ============================================================================================================================ Introduction The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers conducting studies on fog computing technologies and exploring their applications. Fog computing emerges as an alternative for cloud computing to reduce the burden of data centers in traditional cloud architecture. Due to its promising features like low latency, geographical distribution and decentralized data analytic, heterogeneity and interoperability, fog computing attracts growing attentions in both academic and industrial communities and is being considered with great potential in geographically distributed, latency sensitive, and QoS-aware Internet of Things (IoT) applications like industrial IoT, healthcare, connected vehicle, smart environments, smart city and etc. Despite the large number of application domains that fog computing is impacting, its widespread adoption is still facing technical challenges from architecture, communication protocols, naming, identification and resolution, control and management, security and privacy protection among other implementation challenges in terms of programming platform, energy management etc. This workshop welcomes original research on the subject of fog computing methodologies and techniques, the innovative solutions to the key issues and challenges, the latest advances and future of fog computing technologies as well as the case studies for exploring the potential of fog computing technologies in emerging landscapes and industrial applications. Research may cover and focus on either the fundamental methodological studies or the use case and application demonstrations. Topics of interest include, but certainly not limited to: Fog computing network and architecture design - Computing technologies - Computing technologies with fog - Communication technologies with fog - Storage technologies with fog - Network security with fog - Authentication and trust - Authorization and access control - Data security and integrity - Privacy protection - Naming, identification and resolution - Resource and Service management - Fog computing performance and scalability - Fog computing Proof of Concept (PoC), test-beds and applications - Fog computing meets industrial IoT - Fog computing in 5G - Fog computing standards frameworks - Future innovation in fog computing - Fog computing interoperability - Fog computing energy management - Fog computing programming platform - Fog computing based WSNs IMPORTANT DATES Paper Submission Deadline: June 15, 2019 Author Notification: August 15, 2019 Camera-Ready Paper Due: September 15, 2019 Conference Dates: November 12-15, 2019 PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION All papers need to be submitted electronically through the conference website with PDF format. Submitted papers must not substantially overlap with papers that have been published or that are simultaneously submitted to a journal or a conference with proceedings. Papers must be clearly presented in English, must not exceed 12 pages in Springer LNCS format (or up to 16 pages with the pages over length charge), including tables, figures, references and appendices. Papers will be selected based on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation assessed by at least three reviewers. Submission of a paper should be regarded as a commitment that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and attend the conference to present the work. FogCom 2019 reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from the digital library and indexing services), if the paper is not presented at the conference. All accepted papers will be published by Springer LNCS (EI Indexed). One outstanding paper will be selected to receive the Best Paper Award.
