IMPORTANT DATES

Camera ready: 22 May 2010
Workshop : 23-24 August 2010

MOTIVATION and SCOPE
---------------------
Context awareness -that is the quality of being aware of the
physical/virtual environment or the circumstances that characterize a
a situation or an entity- can intelligently guide the efficacy an
application. It is integrated in the design of innovative user
interfaces, as a part of ubiquitous and wearable computing, and in
hybrid search engines. Context can affect a decision to trust as well
as the insurance of security, and the control of privacy. The
availability of context information offers new opportunities to
establish, to enhance, and to manage trust, security and privacy.
Moreover, the location of a user can have impact on which services or
content are provided to the user; alternatively, the user's current
role or social context can determine the degree of trust others
establish towards the user. This workshop support research on
exploring the interdependencies between context-awareness and trust,
security and privacy.

CAT2010 is an European event that follows the Context-Aware and
Trust initiatives that have been running in the past years. It will
offer scientists and engineers that are active in the areas of
context-awareness and of privacy, security, and trust the opportunity
to sit together and to discuss the state of the art, to identify open
and emerging problems, to share research experiences, and to propose
future research directions. Contributions, divided into three
categories, should focus on combining and balancing Privacy, Security,
and Trust with Context-awareness.

WORKSHOP TOPICS
--------------
The following topics are intended, but not limited to:

***
Context and Trust, Security and Privacy as an opportunity

- Context-aware architectures for trust, security, and privacy
- Enhancements of trust, security, and privacy with context information
- Context-aware and proximity trustworthy services
- Formal aspects in context-aware trust, security, and privacy
- Policy languages and ontologies for context-aware trust, security, and privacy
- Human-centred approach to context-aware security and trust.

***
Context and Trust, Security and Privacy as a threat

- Socio-technical attacks to context-aware security
- Security and privacy in context-aware architectures (e.g., smart metering)
- Trust, security, and privacy of context sources and information (e.g, location)
- User control over trust, security and privacy of context
- Contextual security and trust in collaborative systems (e.g., reputation)
- Attacks to security and trust of context-aware services

***
Context and Trust, Security and Privacy as application domains

- Use cases and pilots addressing context-aware trust, security, and privacy
- Usefulness and usability of context-aware trust, security, and privacy
- Context-aware trust, privacy & security in Web applications
- Context-awareness in wifi and sensors networks
- Smart environment and ubiquitous intelligence
- Social, legal, and psychological aspects of context-aware trust and security

PAPER SUBMISSION
----------------
The topics suggested can be discussed in term of concepts, state of
the art, research, standards, implementations, running experiments,
applications, and industrial case studies. Authors are invited to
submit complete unpublished papers, which are not under review in any
other conference or journal in the following, but not limited to,
topic areas. All tracks are open to both research and industry
contributions, in terms of Regular papers, Posters, Work in progress,
Technical/marketing/business presentations, Demos, Tutorials, and
Panels.

Submitter papers, in IEEE two columns format, consist of:

- Full papers (limited to 6 pages) describing high-quality original
unpublished research, case studies, and implementation experiences.

- Short papers (limited to 4 pages) describing either work-in-progress
on ongoing research or properly motivated future research.

Please note the Poster Forum and Work in Progress options. Please
visit our web page to read submission conditions and author's
guideline.

PROCEEDINGS
-----------
The workshop proceedings will be published by CSP, together with
the main conference's proceedings.

Extended versions of selected papers will be published in IARIA
Journals.
