Call For Papers

The 2nd West Asian Colloquium on Optical Wireless Communications (WACOWC) is hosted at the Shahid Beheshthi University (SBU), Tehran, Iran, which follows the successful first event, held in Isfahan University of Technology in 2018. WACOWC aims to bring together researchers from academia and industry to share their latest findings in the emerging fields of OWC. The 2nd colloquium will also include workshops and exhibitions as well as invited keynote speakers. High quality and original technical papers are welcome to be presented at WACOWC2019.

ALL PAPERS ACCEPTED AND PRESENTED WILL APPEAR IN IEEE XPLORE

CONFERENCE TOPICS:

Contributions include but are not limited to the following:
• All organic visible light communications (VLCs)
• Channel modelling and characterisation, channel capacity analysis
• Diversity techniques, dimming, data communications and localisation in VLCs
• Free space optics (indoor, outdoor and under water) – Last meter to last mile
• Hybrid RF/OWC technology, MIMO for OWC
• Hybrid IR/VLC technology
• Modelling of various noises in optical wireless communications
• Modulation, coding and detection schemes
• Mobile-to-infrastructure and mobile-to-mobile optical communication

• OWC networks: architecture, PHY/MAC design, cross-layer design etc.
• Applications of OWC (VLC, FSO) for: Device-to-device communications, e-Health, e-Commerce, Intelligent transportation systems (e.g. vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-traffic communications, trains, planes, etc.), Underwater, Indoor GPS, Inter and intra chip communications, Internet-of-Things (IoT), Medical, Space, Manufacturing, wireless sensor networks,
• Next generation of optical wireless networks
• OWC transceiver design and optimization
• Ultraviolet communications.
