Call for book chapter proposals for the book titled "Applying Integration Techniques and Methods in Distributed Systems and Technologies"
==== Introduction === This book will provide a dedicated forum for sharing the latest results, exchanging ideas and experiences, presenting new research, development and deployment efforts in developing and integrating distributed systems. This book will be an excellent venue to help the community define the current state, determine further goals and present architectures and service frameworks to achieve highly integrated distributed systems. The book will focus on presenting solutions to integration and and efficient management challenges faced by current and future distributed systems. The book will document and present measured comparisons or practical information on realistic, real-world solutions. === Objective === Distributed systems intertwine our everyday life, the benefits and current shortcomings of the underpinning technologies are experienced by a wide range of people and their smart devices. The mashup of cloud, IoT, fog and edge computing often leads to integration issues. So, the book should be well suited to the practitioners who utilize these kind of distributed systems and they would like to enable their synergistic exploitation. On the other hand, with the raise of large scale IoT and similar distributed systems cloud bursting technologies and partial outsourcing solutions planned to be offered in the book will aid the private entities to increase their efficiency and offer unparalleled availability and reliability towards their users. === Target audience === This book, Applying Integration Techniques and Methods in Distributed Systems and Technologies, is aimed at people involved in any aspects of distributed systems such as system administrators, integrators, designers, as well as developers, users for such systems. Furthermore, this book's specific focus to bring together a strong selection of updated research from the International Journal of Distributed Systems and Technologies (IJDST) targets at readers with specific interest in topics that might not be comprehensively addressed elsewhere. === Recommended topics === - Distributed systems, system architecture and design, technologies and applications, and their integration methods and tools for performance analysis, verification, testing, and benchmarking and their empirical results - Innovative developments in distributed computer, operating systems, databases, middleware, networking, and application architecture including design and analysis of distributed algorithms, programming languages, compilers, software tools and middleware environments, autonomy services, IoT, smart environments, cloud computing, service oriented, grid, peer-to-peer, throughput and cluster programming interfaces, scheduling and fault-tolerance service and algorithms, and synchronization and concurrency theory and programming - Theories and applications of distributed computing such as algorithms and services, and their implementation in Internet, pervasive and utility computing, IoT, smart environments, cloud computing, peer-to-peer, grid, next generation grid, and next generation technologies - Theories, applications, and technologies such as click stream, data mining, databases, data warehouses, web houses, web data centers and sites, mashups, intra-/inter-tagging, IoT, smart environments, cloud computing for managing and integrating linked, streaming, media rich, multimedia, spatial, temporal data, services, and resources === Submission procedure === Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before Sept 14, 2018, a chapter proposal of up to 1,500 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by September 18, 2018 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by October 05, 2018, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals must be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery®TM online submission manager. === Publisher === This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.), publisher of the "Information Science Reference" (formerly Idea Group Reference), "Medical Information Science Reference," "Business Science Reference," and "Engineering Science Reference" imprints. For additional information regarding the publisher, please visit www.igi-global.com. This publication is anticipated to be released in 2019. === Important dates === September 14, 2018 (extended from August 31): Proposal Submission Deadline September 18, 2018 (extended from September 5): Notification of Acceptance October 5, 2018 (extended from September 30): Full Chapter Submission October 20, 2018: Review Results Returned November 10, 2018: Final Chapter Submission November 15, 2018: Final Acceptance Notification November 30, 2018: Finalized Materials to IGI Global === Editor === Gabor Kecskemeti Department of Computer Science Liverpool John Moores University |
