Call For Papers

in conjunction with ICDCN 2019 (, IISc Bangalore, Jan. 4-7, 2019.
Recent progress in the areas of distributed computing, wired and wireless networks and mobile computing encouraged many women engineers to work in these fields. Over the past decade, wireless communication and mobile computing have become the most influential technologies in the evolution of new form of distributed computing. Additionally, advances in cloud computing has changed the world of computing by eliminating the requirement of owning large-scale servers by the organizations and shifting the computing tasks towards the data centers. The combination of new forms of networks and distributed computing have given rise of emerging areas like Edge computing, Internet of Things, Big Data management and analytics, Social network analysis etc. Originated from RFID and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), the paradigm of edge computing and IoT have been transforming every aspect of human life including healthcare, energy, transportation, and manufacturing. This workshop will consider the research works which have escalated this change in the computing world. The workshop will also highlight the applications which have been built on top of the modern distributed computing systems with particular focus on healthcare, environment monitoring, transportation and smart city.

The workshop will focus on networking the women researchers working in the emerging fields of (but not limited to):

➢ Architecture and Networking of Distributed Computing
➢ Mobile and Cloud Computing
➢ Network Security, Privacy and Reliability
➢ Scheduling and Resource Management
➢ Internet of Things
➢ Edge Computing
➢ Social Networks
➢ Large Scale Complex Networks
➢ Big data storage and I/O
➢ Applications and services in healthcare, environment monitoring, transportation and smart city.
Papers are solicited for research and work in progress related to any aspect of Distributed Computing and Networking. All researchers in the fields of Distributed Computing and Networking are welcome to submit their work for presentation at this workshop. At least one author of the paper should be woman. Papers will be reviewed by the program committee. Accepted papers will be presented in the workshop.

Submission Instructions

Papers should be at most 5 pages, including title, abstract, figures and references, and not published or under review elsewhere. Papers should be prepared as per ACM conference proceedings format. Please submit a pdf copy of your paper through HotCRP (Check “NWDCN” in the paper submission form).

At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference and present the paper. In addition, no-shows of accepted papers at the workshop will result in those papers NOT being included in the proceedings.

All accepted workshop papers will be included in the ACM Digital Library.
