Calls for Papers (special): International Journal of Public Administration in the Digital Age (IJPADA)
Special Issue On: Managing Nonprofit Organizations in Digital Age Submission Due Date 7/31/2018 Guest Editors Dr. Saqib Saeed Prof. T. Ramayah Introduction Nonprofit organizations are an important part of any society, and they work alongside governments to help citizens by providing advocacy and relief services. The work settings in nonprofit sector widely vary from small community based setups to well-structured transnational organizations. In order to efficiently manage the operations, nonprofit organizations also need to establish appropriate communication and processes in their work settings. In this digital age, ICT’s have revolutionized the communication and collaboration practices of modern day workplace. However, there is a sparse body of literature highlighting how nonprofit organizations are benefiting from these digital technologies, keeping in view their traditional fragile organizational structure, limited funding and technical resources. ICT’s can be a great enabler for these organizations for advocacy, fundraising, mobilization and collaboration tasks. However, the politics of technology can become a sensitive issue among the stakeholders working in the nonprofit sector. As a result there is a need for more studies to understand the influence and implications of ICTs in nonprofit organizations. Objective The aim of this special issue is to attract case studies as well as sound theoretical contributions to enrich this body of knowledge from the perspective of different cross cutting domains. The best practices generated from varied ethnographic studies are going to highlight the implications of technology adoption whereas the theoretical contributions will enhance the conceptual understanding of the field.
