Call For Papers

China is now recognized as one of the world's superpowers, with the second largest economy. In 2014, Xi Jinping the Chairman of the Republic of the People’s Republic of China, said, “We (the Chinese) should increase China’s soft power, give a good Chinese narrative, and better communicate China’s message to the world”. This led to the birth of the, One Belt One Road Initiative (better known as the OBOR initiative), a significant initiative that requires better understanding from the various stakeholders. The aim of this conference is therefore to provide a platform for researchers, business people, government organizations and other institutions to debate and deliberate on the initiative in Africa on topics including, but not limited to:
Sino-Africa Relations and the OBOR initiative;
The impact of the OBOR initiative on the development of Africa;
Sino-Africa human resources and natural resources exchange;
The role of Confucius institutes in the OBOR initiative;
Teaching and learning of Chinese in Africa;
African Philosophy and culture within the OBOR initiative;
Sino-Africa professional development and training within the OBOR
initiative;
Local African languages versus Chinese: invasion or coalition?
Research and practice on teaching Chinese Culture in Africa
