Call For Papers

Call for Papers – SLIOIA 2018 – Extended Deadline: April 22, 2018

We are delighted to invite the academic and professional communities to submit works to
SLIOIA 2018 (Latin American Symposium on Operations Research and Artificial
Intelligence), a symposium to be held as part of CLEI 2018.

The Latin American Computing Conference (CLEI) is an annual event organised by the Latin
American Centre of Studies in Informatics, which has being held since 1974, rotating across
several Latin American countries. It congregates researchers, professionals, lecturers and
students is a forum to discuss subjects related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Information Systems and related courses in Computing. It also discusses the direct impact of
ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) in Society.

The Latin American Symposium on Operations Research and Artificial Intelligence (SLIOIA)
provides a forum for the Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research communities to
exchange ideas, experiences and research results among teachers, researchers, students and
industry professionals.

Original contributions are sought in the diverse areas of Artificial Intelligence and Operations
Research, comprising academic research, business and industrial applications that both make
an impact and provide lessons on their development.

Local: Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie / São Paulo – Brazil

Date: October 1 to 5, 2018

Important Dates:
Paper submission: Interested authors are invited to submit their contributions (full
papers and abstracts) by April 22, 2018
Notification of acceptance: June 29, 2018

abbiding to the IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings:
https://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
In the text of the works to be reviewed by the Scientific Committee any information that allows
author identification shall not be included. Therefore, names, affiliations and the author’s
bibliographical information shall not appear in the initial versions. Such information shall be
included only in the works’ final version.

The submitted works shall not have been published or be in the process of review by any other
conference or national or international publication.

All the works will be reviewed in a “blind review” way, by at least two members of the
Scientific Committee.

In each conference session, the authors of the accepted papers will have 15 minutes for their
oral presentation and further 5 minutes for discussion.

format and it must not exceed the maximum number of pages allowed. In addition, the authors
of works that receive recommendations of modifications must follow these recommendations
before the final submission.

Each registration will allow the publication of up to two accepted articles in CLEI 2018
Proceedings. In order to puiblish further articles, an extra payment for each additional article
must be made.

The articles (full papers) will be sent to be indexed at the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

The best articles will be selected for possible publication at the following journals:
- Electronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science
- CLEI Electronic Journal

The authors who are invited to submit an article to CLEI Electronic Journal must then submit
an enhanced and expanded version of the original article in English, which will undertake a
new review process.
