SCOPE AND OVERVIEW
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is envisioned that the Internet of Things (IoT) will allow people and things to be connected anytime, anyplace using any path/network and any service. The vision leads IoT information systems to be ubiquitous accessible. However, the common cloud-centric IoT information systems face challenges in their quality of service (QoS) to support ubiquitous applications.

Emerging fog computing architecture moves the IoT information system from the centralised model to the distributed model in which information processes are disseminated to different levels of edge networks in IoT systems. This paradigm improves the agility of information processes of IoT and brings the resources closer to the data sources and end-users. Fog-driven IoT, enhances ubiquitous IoT information system in terms of performance improvement and increasing the quality of experience. However, while applying fog computing in IoT, many engineering challenges have arisen.

The First International Workshop on Fog Computing in Internet of Things and Ubiquitous Systems Engineering (FiUSE 2018), co-located with the 30th International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE’2018), aims to establish a forum for the researchers and participants of fog computing, for discussing the state-of-the-art in fog-driven ubiquitous IoT system engineering, novel solutions and applications.

SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATIONS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Papers should be submitted in PDF format. The results described must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. Submissions must conform to Springer’s LNCS format and should not exceed 12 pages, including all text, figures, references and appendices. Submissions not conforming to the LNCS format, exceeding 12 pages, or being obviously out of the scope of the workshop, will be rejected without review. A small number of short papers (not exceeding 6 pages) will also be accepted based on their novelty, quality and relevance to the workshop. Information about the Springer LNCS format can be found at
http://www.springer.com/comp/lncs/authors.html.
Three to five keywords characterizing the paper should be listed at the end of the abstract.
