SmartNEM 2018 : The 9th International Symposium on Smart Networks, Energy and Management
Call For Papers
The 9th International Symposium on Smart Networks, Energy and Management
28-30 June 2018, Exeter, UK
Features: Good journal special issues + EI index
5G is in the way of revolutionising a number of key industries including media, healthcare, telecommunications, transportation, agriculture, manufacturing, etc. An agile network with smart management is a key factor to accommodate the diversified services from these industries, and to ensure the success of this revolution. On the other hand, a smart energy management is required in many applications, e.g., wireless power tranmission for UAV charging and green data centers, and is therefore an important factor to make a sustainable revolution of these industries.
This workshop will address the important problems and challenges caused by the smart management of networks and energy. The workshop aims to bring together computer scientists and engineers in different disciplines to share and exchange their experience and ideas and discuss state-of-the-art and in-progress research on all aspects of smart networks, energy and management.
SmartNEM-2018 is the conference on Smart Networks, Energy and Management, previously held as WNM-2017 (Exeter, UK, June 2017), WNM-2016 (Sydney, Australia, December 2016), WNM-2015 (Liverpool, UK, October 2015), WNM-2014 (Dalian, China, August 2014), WNM-2013 (Melbourne, Australia, July 2013), WNM-2012 (Liverpool, UK, June 2012), WNM-2011 (Changsha, China, November 2011), and HMWN-2010 (Bradford, UK, June 2010).
Topics of particular interests include the following tracks, but are not limited to:
Track 1: Smart Networks
Track 2: Smart Energy
Track 3: Smart Management
Submission Deadline: 15 March 2018
Authors Notification: 22 April 2018
Camera-Ready Paper Due: 15 May 2018
Registration Due: 15 May 2018
Paper Submission Guideline
Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished research and recent developments in the topics related to the symposium. The length of the papers should not exceed 6 pages + 2 pages for overlength charges (IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced, 10-point font), including figures and references.
The template files for LATEX or WORD can be downloaded at http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html.
Papers should be submitted through the EasyChair paper submission system at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=smartnem2018.
All papers will be peer reviewed and the comments will be provided to the authors. Once accepted, the paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI).
Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register for the conference and present the work.
Journal Special Issues
Distinguished papers selected from the symposium, after further extensions, will be recommended for submission and publication in the Special Issues of following prestigious journals:
1. IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing (IEEE Computer Society)
2. Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (Wiley)
3. Multimedia Tools and Applications (Springer)
