Call For Papers

The Czech Academy of Sciences, Institute of Philosophy, announces

LOGICA 2018

the 32nd in the series of annual international symposia devoted to logic, to be held at Hejnice (in northern Bohemia, about 2.5 hours from Prague), on 18 – 22 June 2018.

Invited speakers are Samson Abramsky, Francesco Berto, Danielle Macbeth, and Jaroslav Peregrin.

A tutorial will be given by Carles Noguera i Clofent.

The first session begins on the morning of Tuesday June 19. The symposium closes at noon Friday June 22.

Contributions devoted to any of the wide range of logical problems are welcome except those focused on specialized technical applications. Particularly welcome are contributions that cover issues interesting both for ‘philosophically’ and for ‘mathematically’ oriented logicians.

If you are interested in presenting a paper at the symposium, please submit a two-page blind abstract via EasyChair. The guidelines for submissions can be found at

http://logika.flu.cas.cz/logica

The deadline is 15 February 2018. Notifications will be sent out by the end of March. The fee for the symposium is 430 EUR for participants and 300 EUR for accompanying persons. The fee covers full board and lodging at Hejnice Monastery during the symposium, the conference coach from Prague to Hejnice and back, and (for participants) a copy of the volume containing contributions to the symposium.

Members of the Logica 2018 Programme Committee are: Samson Abramsky, Francesco Berto, Marta Bílková, Georg Brun, Ivano Ciardelli, Petr Cintula, Christian Fermüller, Yuri Gurevich, Ole Hjortland, Gary Kemp, Ansten Klev, Vojtěch Kolman, Danielle Macbeth, David Makinson, Edwin Mares, Carles Noguera, Hitoshi Omori, Jaroslav Peregrin, Hans Rott, Sebastian Sequoiah-Grayson, Nick Smith, Vladimír Svoboda, Heinrich Wansing, Zach Weber.

Contributions to Logica symposia are published in The Logica Yearbook series (College Publications). Previous volumes include papers from Nuel Belnap, Johan van Benthem, Kosta Došen, Melvin Fitting, Bob Hale, Wilfrid Hodges, Jaakko Hintikka, David Lewis, Jeff Paris, Barbara Partee, Stephen Read, Greg Restall, Gabriel Sandu,
Howard Sobel, Stewart Shapiro and many others.

Scholars from countries with underfunded academic institutions are invited to apply for a reduction of the conference fee. Those who wish to apply for the reduction should explicitly state so when submitting their abstract, which should be extended to four pages.

All correspondence concerning the symposium should be directed to
