Knowledge engineering (KE) deals with the development of intelligent information systems in which knowledge and reasoning play pivotal role. KE is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) and includes: knowledge acquisition, knowledge-based systems, knowledge compilation, shells and tools, methodologies, modeling, knowledge management, knowledge discovery, and knowledge representation. This special session is devoted to discussion of current research of the AI techniques and knowledge engineering methodologies for developing intelligent Decision Support Systems.
The goal is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas between decision makers , computer scientists, and knowledge engineers to address the important issues in these areas.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Relevant intelligent techniques and systems
• Machine learning
• Inference and reasoning techniques
• Natural language processing
• Multi-agent Systems
• Expert Systems
• Data mining techniques
• Intelligent Shells and tools
Knowledge and ontological engineering
• Knowledge representation and management
• Knowledge discovery
• Knowledge acquisition and sharing
• Knowledge brokering
• Knowledge-based Systems
• Ontological approaches and methodologies.
Relevant Biomedical applications
• Hospital patient scheduling

Papers must be submitted electronically for peer review through PaperCept by December 10, 2017: http://controls.papercept.net/conferences/scripts/start.pl. In PaperCept, click on the CoDIT 2018 link “Submit a Contribution to CoDIT'18” and follow the steps.
All papers must be written in English and should describe original work. The length of the paper is limited to a maximum of 6 pages (in the standard IEEE conference double column format).
December 10, 2017: deadline for paper submission
February 4, 2018: notification of acceptance/reject
February 28, 2018: deadline for final paper and registration.
