Call For Papers

For the Technology Symposium:

The 2010 Symposium on VLSI Technology welcomes submission of papers on all aspects of VLSI technology. The scope of the symposium is:

- New concepts and breakthroughs in VLSI processes and devices including Memory, Logic, I/O, and I/F (RF/Analog/Mixed-Signal/High-Voltage, Imager, MEMS, etc.)
- Advanced gate stacks and interconnects in VLSI processes and devices
- Advanced lithography and fine-patterning technologies for high-density VLSI
- New functional devices beyond CMOS with a path for VLSI implementation
- Packing of VLSI devices including 3D-system integration
- Process and device modeling of VLSI devices
- Reliability related to the above devices
- Theories and fundamentals related to the above devices
- New concepts and technologies for VLSI manufacturing

For the Circuits Symposium:

The 2010 Symposium on VLSI Circuits will provide the designers of integrated circuits an opportunity to meet and present important new work at an international forum. The three day Symposium will continue the successful format and atmosphere established by the previous meetings, and will have a two day overlap with the 2010 Symposium on VLSI Technology which is being held at the same hotel.
The scope of the Symposium covers all aspects of VLSI circuits, such as:

- Circuit design to address challenges of deeply scaled technologies-e.g. DFM, variability, reliability
- Digital circuit techniques
- Analog and mixed signal circuits such as data converters and amplifiers to address performance, power, technology scaling, and variability
- Complex SOC systems describing new architectures and implementations
- Circuit approaches for clock generation and distribution
- Advances in memory circuits; especially for embedded memories in scaled technologies
- Adaptive power techniques and power management for analog and digital circuits
- Techniques for digitally-assisted analog and analog-assisted digital including digital implementation of previously analog functions
- RF and wireless communications with emphasis on system architecture and implementation
- Circuits for sensors and displays
- Wireline transceiver and I/O design optimized for high bandwidth and low-power spanning from chip-to-chip through long-reach applications
- Fundamentals related to the above, including innovative transistor-level circuit design and circuits for characterizing technology changes and variations

Papers will be considered on the basis of originality, innovation, and advancing the field. Implementation in silicon and measured results will be considered favorably in the ratings, especially when showing the conditions and techniques for significant advances in results. It is understood that papers in new areas are likely to contain less quantitative evaluations than those in more established areas.

Your complete paper must occupy no more than two pages including illustrations.

Submitted papers, which exceed this length, will not be accepted for review. Each page can contain about 700 words and two illustrations (assuming each illustration is two-column format). A page could contain as many as six illustrations if they are sized accordingly.
When preparing the final pages, please follow carefully the instructions in the Author's Guide. Please avoid the use of special Asian fonts in the main body text, figures, charts, and tables in the paper submission.

You must have approval from your organization before submitting your paper to the VLSI Symposia.
The VLSI Symposia views as an unprofessional practice the withdrawal of a paper once it has been submitted by the author, accepted by the Program Committee, and widely announced in the Advance Program. Withdrawal of a paper or failure to present a paper at the Symposia after the Advance Program is distributed jeopardizes both the Symposia credibility and the author's professional reputation.
