Short biography of co-chairs

Lei Chen is an associate professor with the Department of Information Technology under the College of Engineering and Information Technology at Georgia Southern University. He received his B.Eng. in Computer Science and Applications from Nanjing University of Technology, China, in 2000 and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Auburn University, USA, in 2007. He then joined the Department of Computer Science at Sam Houston State University as Assistant Professor, and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2013.
Dr. Chen’s research interests focus on the security and digital forensics of networks, information, and the Cloud, especially mobile, handheld, and wireless security. He has authored or co-authored more than 90 peer-reviewed scholarly works. His edited book “Wireless Network Security: Theories and Applications”, published by Springer (U.S.) and Higher Education Press (HEP) in 2013, received more than 15,000 combined downloads. Dr. Chen successfully organized multiple workshops with IEEE INFOCOM, GLOBECOM and ICNC. He is serving as the TPC (co-)chair for MobiMedia 2017. Dr. Chen has also served as TPC member at numerous international conferences and in the editorial board for various books and well recognized journals, and has served as reviewer for top conferences and journals. His research is supported by both internal and external funding sources, including the National Security Agency (NSA).

Shucheng Yu received his Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2010. He is now an associate professor in Computer Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he is also the chairperson of the Computer Science Department and the director of the Computational Research Center.
Dr. Yu’s research interests include security and privacy in big data applications, cloud computing security, wireless network security, security and privacy in smart and connected systems. He has published over 60 high-impact research papers in scholarly journals and conference proceedings which received more than 5000 citations in past five years. Dr. Yu served as the Technical Program Chair for the 4th International Symposium on Digital Forensics and Security (ISDFS 2016), and the Symposium Co-Chair for IEEE Global Communications Conference (Globecom) 2016. He has also served in the organizing committee for other international conferences including IEEE Infocom, BodyNets, etc. His research is supported by several federal funding agencies including the National Science Foundation.
