The Digital Jewellery workshop: Bring back the attention to the physical object aims to to gather high-quality contributions to the area of digital jewellery. We invite submissions across a variety of categories for research investigating the evolution of wearable accessories and specifically digital jewellery. Research areas of particular interest include: Digital Jewellery Case Studies Bio-data collection techniques Collection and analysis of bio-data Emotion recognition Implantable bio-sensors Fabrication Technologies such as: Non-emissive displays Shape shifting materials E-textiles Stretchable electronics Animism and Heirlooms How Jewellery making and exchange in indigenous societies can inform the digital practice Techno-Animism and augmented reality Furthermore, we encourage papers highlighting work methodologies between artists, jewellery makers and engineers. Each submission is required to have implications to one of the three workshop themes. A position paper is generally 2-4 pages long and outlines the submitter's view on the workshop theme and the reasons for the submitter's interest in the topic. The deadline for any presenter to submit a position paper should be no later than 15 August 2017, 23:59 UTC/GMT. Please note that at least one author of each accepted position paper must attend, present at the workshop, and register for a Basic conference pass |
