Social media has revolutionized the communication practices of humans. Social media has huge potential not only for personal networking, but also for organizational collaboration and information dissemination. Nonprofit organizations traditionally lack IT infrastructure and social media can be a great enabler for these organizations for advocacy, mobilization, and collaboration tasks.
The aim of this special issue is to invite ethnographic studies and theoretical contributions examining the inherent issues, technology design implications, user experiences, and guidelines for social media usage in nonprofit settings. We invite high-quality manuscripts exploring social media usage in non-profit settings.
