Call For Papers | |||||||||
Cloud computing is now established as a widely used model to offer “everything as a service”. Topics related to cloud computing have been generating substantial interest in the community within a variety of scopes, and it is anticipated that this interest will continue in the future. Cloud computing is important to the research community as it is challenging traditional methods by its sheer size and high level of automation. Corroborating the substantial interest from the community and challenging issues yet to be addressed. Computers and Electrical Engineering has already published six special sections on this topic (January 2013, October 2013, July 2014, February 2015, October 2015, and November 2016).
In this special section, prospective authors are invited to submit their outstanding and original unpublished research manuscripts, focused on latest findings in cloud computing relating to the topics of interest below. This involves research areas for design and analysis of distributed and centralized cloud systems, data centre design and engineering, economic and market models for cloud systems, business models and their applications in scientific, engineering, and commercial deployment. Moreover, with the evolution of the cloud paradigm, we are also interested in the new distributed cloud paradigms, such as fog computing, mobile and vehicular clouds, and their synergy with the centralized cloud data centres. Topics of interest are limited to: "As-a-service" management architectures Accounting and economic models for clouds Applications and services enabled by clouds Autonomic cloud computing Business models and applications Cloud federation management Cloud monitoring Cloud resource management Cloud service orchestration Data / Big Data management in the cloud Fog Computing and Edge Clouds Green cloud computing Hybrid clouds Network mechanisms for optimized cloud access Performance modelling and evaluation Policy driven service/resource life-cycle management QoS/QoE management in the cloud Scheduling in Clouds Scientific Workflows on Clouds SLA Life-cycle Management Software Defined Networking and Network Virtualization in Clouds and Fogs Virtualization management Schedule Full manuscript due: June 15, 2017 (extended) Notification of first review process: July 1, 2017 Revision due: August 1, 2017 Second and Third tentative rounds: August 1 to November 1, 2017 Final acceptance notification: November 15, 2017 Final manuscript due: December 15, 2017 Publication date: April 2018 Submission details Manuscripts should be submitted at Elsevier Editorial System (https://www.evise.com/profile/#/COMPELECENG/login ) using the Article Type "SI-cloud7". A guide for authors in preparing their papers is available at http://www.elsevier.com/journals/computers-and-electrical-engineering/0045-7906/guide-for-authors. All submissions must be original and not currently under review for publication elsewhere. All submitted papers will be peer reviewed using the normal standards of CAEE.
