CALL FOR PAPERS – Ilha do Desterro Journal

SPECIAL ISSUE 2017: The uses of parallel corpora in the stylistic analysis of films and literature for children

Guest Editors:

Lincoln Fernandes, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

Michael Toolan, University of Birmingham

Ilha do Desterro is a top-tier, open-access journal published by the Graduate Program in English of Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Florianopolis, Brazil), which has been publishing articles in the areas of English, Literature, and Cultural Studies since 1979. Ilha do Desterro is indexed by SCOPUS, SciElo, and MLA, among other databases. The editors invite manuscripts to be considered for a special issue to appear in September 2017 focusing on the translation of children’s literature, parallel corpora-based analyses (ideally using COPA-TRAD, a corpus analysis tool developed by Dr. Lincoln Fernandes - http://copa-trad.ufsc.br/), and stylistic or discourse analytic issues.

Submitted articles will be subject to the normal peer review process of the Ilha do Desterro journal. Please visit the submission guidelines at the following link for information on manuscript length, the mandate of the journal, and other aspects of submission: https://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/desterro/about/submissions. For the English version of the guidelines, select the respective language under IDIOMA on the right hand side of the page.

Final deadline for submissions: March 31st, 2017.

Submissions should be sent electronically through SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online): https://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/desterro/about/submissions

Receipt of all manuscripts will be acknowledged via SCIELO.
