Big Data Processing, Programming, and Analytical Techniques
Call for Papers Big data is characterized by the increasing volume and velocity of data generation. In conjunction with emerging applications, big data brings technical challenges for data processing and mining that broadly impact many research areas, including computing infrastructure, computer architectures, theory and algorithm development, and applications across various fields, such as social networks, medical information, and life science. In this special issue, we focus on building high-performance computing systems (i.e., novel software and hardware architectures). The software research covers both performance and productivity, including programming languages, library, and development tools for building big data processing applications. The hardware research focuses on performance, scalability, and power efficiency. In addition, novel algorithms and security techniques for data analytics are also considered with respect to improving performance and protecting data. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following: New programming models to support big data programming Program synthesis and code generation for big data processing Program optimization for big data applications New libraries and language constructs for big data programming High performance machine learning libraries running on state-of-art accelerators (e.g., GPU and XeonPhi) Program debug techniques for big data programming Performance analysis model for big data applications Novel big data processing frameworks (software or hardware) Performance tuning of big data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, and Storm) Energy-efficient computing for big data processing Multistructured data processing Computational modeling and data integration Security and privacy in HCI (Hyper-Converged Infrastructure) architecture Privacy preserving big data analytics Authors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/sp/pant/.
