CALL FOR PAPERS
8th International Conference on Optical Communication Systems OPTICS website: http://www.optics.icete.org/ July 26 - 28, 2017 Madrid, Spain In Cooperation with: ITG Co-organized by: Universidad Rey Juan Carlos Sponsored by: INSTICC INSTICC is Member of: WfMC, OMG and FIPA Logistics Partner: SCITEVENTS IMPORTANT DATES: Regular Paper Submission: March 2, 2017 Authors Notification (regular papers): May 3, 2017 Final Regular Paper Submission and Registration: May 17, 2017 Scope: The purpose of OPTICS 2017, the International Conference on Optical Communication Systems, is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested on any of the optical communication components of an optical communication system, or the system itself. An optical communication system consists of a transmitter, which encodes a message into an optical signal, a channel, which carries the signal to its destination, and a receiver, which reproduces the message from the received optical signal. Optical fiber is currently the main means for high-rate transmission in communication networks. In the last years, there is a great deal of ongoing research efforts that span the entire protocol stack of optical networks, with representative areas being architecture of optical components, optoelectronics, wavelength routing, energy efficiency, Quality of Service, hybrid optical-wireless networks etc. Conference Topics: Area 1: OPTICS - International Conference on Optical Communication Systems - Design, Control and Management of Optical Networks - Optical Switching - New Architectures for Optical Routers and Switches - Optical Networks Performance Modelling - QoS. Optical Networks for Future Networks - Energy Efficiency in Optical Networks - Passive Optical Networks - Integration of Optical and Wireless Networking - Lasers and Photonic Components - Optical Access Networks - Optical Amplification and Sensing - Optical Modulation and Signal Processing - New Optical Fiber Technologies - Enabling the Cloud Through SDN and NFV - Hybrid Optical-Wireless Networks - Intelligent Optical Control Plane - Packet Optical Networking Technology - WDM Optical Networks - FiWi Networks - High Speed optical LANs and Gigabit Ethernet - Opto-Electronics for Terabit Networking - Next Generation Optical Networking - Elastic Optical Networks - Silicon Photonics - Quantum Photonic Networks - Optical Sensors OPTICS KEYNOTE LECTURE Charalabos Skianis, University of the Aegean, Greece Carlo Regazzoni, University of Genova, Italy Jan Camenisch, IBM Research - Zurich, Switzerland Jose Duato, UPV, Spain OPTICS CONFERENCE CO-CHAIRS: Mohammad S.
