Call For Papers | |||||||||||||
The UIC 2017 Poster and Demo session provides an excellent opportunity for researchers to showcase and present their work, in a highly visual manner. We encourage researchers to submit early results and findings from work-in-progress research, as this enables researchers to exchange ideas and solicit early feedback from the research community.
The demonstrations may include implementations of techniques presented in the main conference or workshops, as well as system demonstrations. We also encourage industry practitioners to participate in the session to showcase their products. Both video demonstrations and live demonstrations are welcomed. Topics The same topics as those the main tracks of UIC 2017. Submission Guidelines Interested researchers can submit their poster and demos along with a 2 to 4-page paper in the IEEE-CS CPS format, which should be submitted to the UIC2017 Easychair system. All accompanying papers for posters and demos will be included in the UIC2017 proceedings. When you make a new submission, choose “Poster and Demo track of the 14th IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing”. The submission will be single-blind reviewed. The main selection criteria will be the expected general interest of the demonstration to the Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing community, the significance of the work, and originality of the work. The accepted demos will be included in the CPS conference proceedings. As a condition for acceptance, at least one of the authors must be registered for the main conference, and present at the poster/demo session in UIC 2017. All demos will compete for the Best Demo Award. Detailed Instructions for Posters and Demos Please note that the physical posters presented at the conference must be in portrait orientation and may not be larger than A0 size. The conference will provide a space for your demo, a poster stand, a table and chairs, and a power connection. An internet connection is not guaranteed. For the convenience of those presenting demos, we encourage the use of pre-made video demos to showcase your work. Please note that you will be required to bring your own laptop or other appropriate equipment on which to display the video demos. If you would prefer to provide a live demonstration of work, this is also welcome. If such live demonstrations require special equipment including power converters, projectors, audio amplification, wireless LAN, etc., please liaise with the organisers in advance. Please specify your planned space layout on a separate page so that we can plan the demo area accordingly as space may be limited. Upon acceptance you will be required to install your poster or demonstration in the conference venue and keep it running for at least the duration of the Poster and Demo session. |
