ECIS 2010 will follow the format of the traditionally successful programs including a doctoral consortium, conference tracks, mini-tracks, panels, posters, tutorials and workshops. We expect an estimated 500 submitted papers. The same selection process for papers will be followed as previous ECIS conferences. A French speaking workshop will be held before ECIS 2010 for African Francophile IS Academics.
The normal three month cycle for ECIS reviews will be shifted forward because South Africa hosts the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup directly after ECIS 2010. Participants will need to know early if their paper has been accepted so that they can book flights (which are cheaper if booked six months beforehand) and accommodations (which will be limited) in advance. We also want participants to know before ICIS 2009 if their paper for ECIS 2010 has been accepted. The final program will be available by early December 2009.
The earlier dates are to ensure that academics can find flights and accommodation at reasonable rates so that we can keep the costs down for participants.
