Call For Papers

The conference will be held in the Sewers Congress Centre, Nuevos Ministerios, Madrid.

Taped conversations by the Spanish Minister of the Interior, recently leaked to the press in the middle of the general election campaign, have revealed considerable advances in how to try and curtail the democratic process in Catalonia towards independence, sparked off, in the view of many, by the 2010 Constitutional court ruling that substantially cut back the powers of the regional government agreed by the Spanish Parliament in 2006, and ratified by a referendum.

The conference will be structured into the following 10 thematic areas:

a. How to draft false police reports incriminating leading Catalan politicians on the basis of concocted bank accounts in tax havens.

- (28/10/2014, Spanish)

- (23/5/2016, Spanish, 2nd edition)

- (4/12/2016)

b. How to use the press to disseminate false information, and to publish personal data of 33 Catalan judges that defended the legality of holding a non-binding referendum, without the policemen involved ending up in prison.

- (10/3/2014 version, in Spanish)

- (05/04/2014 version, in Catalan)

c. How to fool Catalans into thinking their pensions would no longer be paid by Spain once Catalonia became independent.

- (2/10/2013)

- (24/9/2015)

d. How to tell Catalans that if they behave themselves and everyone does their duty, there will be no need for a military intervention in Catalonia.

- (8/9/2015)

- (9/9/2015, unabridged version)

e. How to focus public resources on finding (or fabricating) cases of corruption in local councils run by proindy parties, ignoring Unionist corruption.

- (22/6/2015, recordings included)

f. How to turn the tables when the taped conversations are published, so that the Minister appears as the poor innocent victim, and not a conspiratorial plotter using totally unethical methods to counter political opponents. And do far better in the election a week later than any poll foresaw.

- (22/6/2016)

- (analysis, 28/6/2016)

g. How to organise cyberattacks against the Catalan government and proindy organisations' websites and emergency health services, just before the November 9 poll, and get away with it.

h. How to wage a dirty war against the Catalan people: secret police operation design and implementation.

- (early operations, up to 2012)

- (2013, supplement on CNI secret service operations)

- (budgetary aspects)

- (2013 overview)

- (2016 update)

- (social network infiltration)

- (recent overview)

i. How to take leading Catalan politicians to court for having organised a non-binding poll to find out the Catalans' opinion on independence, on November 9 2014, despite none of the nine local prosecutors seeing anything illegal in their behaviour.

- (18/11/2014)

j. How the public prosecutor can simply ignore leaked tapes revealing the dirty war against Catalans, known as #FdezDiazGate, instead of taking the case urgently to court.
