In present scenario, there is huge demand of the portable, wearable, implantable, wireless, miniature, medical sensors/devices because of modern and healthy living. All the medical devices have main function that is the acquisition and analysis of physiological data either offline or real time. Thus, Biomedical Signal and Image Processing plays vital role in the modern days. In healthcare system, medical devices help physicians and specialist in diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutics and High quality of the signal processing algorithm is an important part of each of these processes. In the research, validation of a medical device is only possible by accurate signal processing. Learning this book can provide skills to the student that can be immediately applied in real-life technological inventions. This new book will mainly focus on advanced topics in biomedical signal and image processing and its recent applications in medical and research field. Chapters include basics introduction, traditional analysis to latest analysis techniques and tool for bio-medical signal and image processing.
The field of biomedical signal and image processing has contributed immensely to human healthcare systems. In order to improve health and quality of human life, Signal and Image processing has played a major role in a wide range of health care system by identifying the meaningful features from different image diagnostic sources like X-ray, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Computer-assisted ECG, EEG, EMG, Audio and Video monitoring, Ultrasound, Tomography, Scans, Continuous physiological monitoring, tele-healthcare, tele-medicine. Signal and Image Processing has played important role in the development of intelligent healthcare systems and devices. The objective of this book is to bridge the gap between signal processing and healthcare system and present a collection of high-quality research work that report the latest advances in the area of Signal and Image processing techniques in healthcare. The unique characteristics of the publication would be:
1. The proposed publication will be very well targeted towards providing quality and latest research by eminent researchers.

We are accepting article proposals within the following fields of research for this exhaustive publication. The authors can come with novel proposal highlighting emerging research focused primarily on application medical signal and image processing technologies. Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit 2-3 page chapter proposals clearly explaining the mission, concerns, and applications of his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines for preparing a chapter (15-20 pages). Full chapters are expected to submit before the last date mentioned in the schedule. All submitted chapters will be reviewed and review notification will be sent. Based on the revisions made by contributors, final acceptance decision will be informed. Upon the acceptance of chapter, contributors have to submit final camera ready chapter along with signed copyright. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global, an international academic publisher. For additional information regarding the publisher, please visit www.igi-global.com. This publication is anticipated to be released in 2017.
