Conceptual Spaces at Work 2016
Dates: 25-27 August 2016 Venue: Södertörn University, Sweden Website: http://www.sh.se/csw16 The conference on Conceptual Spaces at Work 2016 is to be held on 25-27 August 2016 at Södertörn University, Huddinge, within the greater Stockholm area. This conference focuses on concepts and their applications using the theory of Conceptual Spaces (CS), as introduced by Peter Gärdenfors (2000). It provides a geometric model for the representation of human conceptual knowledge that bridges the symbolic and the sub-conceptual levels of representation. The model has already proven to have a broad range of applicability beyond cognitive science but even across a number of disciplines related to concepts and representation. It has provides an intellectual platform of further elaboration to various theoretical and methodological directions. An anthology based on papers presented at the the previous conference “Conceptual Spaces at Work 2012” at Lund University was edited by Zenker & Gärdenfors (2015) and published by Springer (http://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783319150208).
