LAST DEADLINE EXTENSION!!!
INTRODUCTION Cyber-physical systems largely associated with the Internet of Things (IoT) connect many facets of our everyday’s life including physical assets around us. IoT activities soar, easily observable by the increase of scientific publications in recent years and by long-term strategy adaptions towards IoT of major IT-industry players. McKinsey projects the IoT market to grow to $11 trillion by 2025. Security aspects will play a vital role in the success of IoT. Self-driving vehicles that communicate to each other or energy grids that get interactive require high-security measures in order to guarantee data integrity, prevent fraud and maintain safety. A number of challenges have to be overcome in order to pave the way to make IoT become ubiquitous in today's societies. This publication will show applications in the context of IoT, arising challenges and how security, safety and mixed criticality solutions can play a major role in overcoming them. OBJECTIVE The main objective of this handbook shall be the collection of latest results and insights of state-of-the-art solutions for CPS ubiquity, with a specific focus on the Internet-of-Things. Hence, it shall provide an overview of current developments and future trends in this area. As such it will contain a balanced combination of development reports from an industry perspective and research papers from the academic community. In detail, this publication will help to address major challenges in the context of the Internet-of-things, i.e., security, safety, and mixed-criticality concerns in multi-core environments. TARGET AUDIENCE This handbook of research is targeted to be a reference for researchers and professionals working in the domain of cyber-physical systems (CPS). The respective fields are ranging from hardware and software security, safety and dependability, to embedded system research for the Internet-of-Things in general. This includes applications and research in the automotive industry and the field of Industry 4.0. RECOMMENDED TOPICS Cyber-physical-systems (CPS) Wireless sensor nodes Smart-Card security Security strategies for IoT systems Verification for IoT systems CPS in the automotive domain Emerging technologies in the CPS research area Mixed-criticality concerns in multi-core environments Security concerns in CPS Safety concerns in CPS SUBMISSION PROCEDURE Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before August 25, 2016, a 2-3 pages chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of their proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by September 14, 2016 about the status of their proposals and will be sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by November 28, 2016, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for other chapters. Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Handbook of Research on Solutions for Cyber-Physical Systems Ubiquity. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals should be submitted through the E-Editorial DiscoveryTM online submission manager. http://www.igi-global.com/publish/call-for-papers/call-details/2202 PUBLISHER This book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.), publisher of the "Information Science Reference" (formerly Idea Group Reference), "Medical Information Science Reference," "Business Science Reference," and "Engineering Science Reference" imprints.
