DMDE 2016 : Special Issue on Data Mining and its Applications in Digital Ecosystems
Call For Papers
Data Mining is a set of techniques aiming to find useful information through a process of analyzing data from multiple perspectives. As an emergent topic, data mining has currently a rapid progress and exponential use in several fields. Many researches have been proposed in this topic. Theory and practical applications are developed to deal with problems linked to information retrieval in different fields.
Recently, the massive growth of information amount is leaded by new research domains such as big data, cloud computing, internet of things etc. In this context, data mining appear as a convenient and important tools to analyze and treat this growth. Indeed, data mining techniques are able to extract pertinent and useful features information whatever it is nature (textual, scalar, multimedia …).
Inspired from natural ecosystem, a Digital Ecosystems refers to the distributed, adaptive and open socio-technical system. A Digital Ecosystems has the following characteristics: (1) Self-organization, (2) scalability and (3) sustainability. Data Mining techniques appear as significant tools to deal with these mentioned characteristics. As proved by several recent research works, the results of these techniques are reassuring.
In this special issue we seek original or review research papers aiming to explore the application of data mining in the context of digital ecosystems. Submissions are welcome in the following areas, but are not limited to:
Data Mining in Pervasive Environnements
Data Mining in Networks (VANET, WSNs, MANET, …)
Data Mining and Cloud Computing.
