Both Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies are expected to impact on forthcoming research. Indeed these disruptive paradigms are shaping the future networking landscape but also posing significant challenges for network providers and in particular for mobile operators.
The main target of the special session is to bring together researchers from academia and industry, whose interests are related to new trends in networking applications, services and infrastructures focused on network virtualization and cloud computing. Participants will have the opportunity to highlight and discuss technological challenges through interaction with peer researchers, exchanging ideas that fuel future research. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas: • SDN and NFV frameworks and architectures. • SDN and NFV challenges. • Applications of NFV/SDN in IoT, Smart Cities, and cloud computing infrastructures • Reliability, Availability and Load Balancing in NFV and SDN. • Techniques for improving the performance, and security of SDNs • Autonomic management technologies in NFV and SDN • Security functions and services in NFV • SDN programming languages and data models • Authentication, Authorization and Accounting in SDN and NFV. • Orchestration and Management in SDN and NFV. • Efficient network and service monitoring for SDN or NFV • QoS/QoE in SDN/NFVs SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS ------------------------------------------- Authors must prepare the submission version of their paper, typesetting it in the two column IEEE Conference style.
