Interdisciplinary Legal Studies (ILS) is an engages the meanings, values, practices, and institutions of law and legality. It examines how law shapes and is shaped by political, economic, and cultural forces.
The field of legal studies is undergoing rapid changes of a highly diverse nature. Increasing specialization, globalization, the rise of interdisciplinary legal studies.
We are seeking a diverse range of papers and research projects which consider the origins or histories of different areas, systems, and conceptions of law; which synthesize or cast a critical eye on recent developments and trends; and which predict or illuminate future paths and directions.
We encourage scholars to view the theme as an open opportunity to explore diverse ideas and consider trends in their areas of interest, as part of a larger discussion about the proper role and place of law in our world.
We encourage submissions from disciplines intersecting with law, including cultural studies, psychology, criminology, sociology, anthropology, geography, political science, history, gender studies, and philosophy.
