The 21st century has witnessed the boom of growth in volume of data made available through social medias, eGovernment services, digital business, crowd sourcing and many others. The world is now moving towards the understanding of Big Data and what you do with it, known as Algorithmic Economy, as coined by Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2015. Data science and big data is changing the business world and revamping their technological infrastructure. Open Government Data which covers a wide range of stakeholders and areas of governance needs strong data management and powerful big data analytics approaches. Success in such transformation in government bodies and business corporations request for better innovation in technological and organizational resource management, practices and strategies. However, learning from big data and understanding data science call for more efficient and scalable data management methods especially on data storage, processing and analysis. This workshop aims at gathering innovative academics, industrial experts and engineers interested in capturing greater insights from big data and data science information economy. We welcome original unpublished research papers related to topics of the workshop, which include but are not limited to the following: • Big data / data science analytics and applications • Big data / data science computational modelling • Innovative algorithms/methods for understanding big data/ data science • Machine learning and soft computing approaches for big data/ data science • MapReduce-based algorithms and applications/framework • Open Data platforms • Open Government / Business Model • Big data / data science solution for industry • Security and privacy in big data sharing and management • Storage solution for business/government big data / data science • Social media, cloud computing and big data analytics Manuscripts should be in English. They should be written clearly and concisely in a MS Word file, along with the corresponding PDF file and submitted via EasyChair system (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iwbda2016). The manuscripts should be formatted according to guidelines from IJASCA, which can be found here http://www.home.ijasca.com/author-guide/. |
