The concept of sustainable healthcare is at the fore of social consciousness around the world. Health is the most basic element underpinning a functioning society and sustaining health and healthcare is by definition existentially critical for social welfare and continuity. The importance of healthcare reflected in society’s ever increasing expectations for accessibility, timely, and effective care; coupled with limited and in many cases, diminishing financial resources has meant that discussions regarding health have been dominated by the need for extraordinary creativity and innovative solutions. Specifically, in how healthcare is organized, financed, and delivered with the potential to sustainably reduce spending, while leading to improvements in quality and accessibility of care.

We would like to invite potential chapter authors to submit and showcase their work on service delivery models and management approaches. This book aims to present the latest insightful solutions for sustainable healthcare systems by framing healthcare systems as complex, adaptive and dynamic system (s) and giving consideration to their interchanges among their agents in their embedding context. We seek both theoretical and empirical chapters with a focus on system dynamics and agent based models, econometric models, as well as state of the art empirical studies. Chapters on case studies, service delivery models or other empirical work on local, regional, national, and international healthcare systems are welcome.

Recommended topics include, but are not limited to the following:
• Critical areas for healthcare innovations
• Evolving healthcare systems
• Health system integration
• Patient engagement and empowerment
• Big data as a driver of innovation
• Scaling up innovation
• Dynamic modeling for healthcare systems
• Multi-agency cooperation and interoperability
• Leadership in national and/or international responses across multiple agencies
