The 27th Spacecraft Thermal Control Workshop will be held at The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA. The workshop provides a forum for the aerospace thermal control community to share information related to new technology developments and lessons learned. It is open to government contractors, military personnel, and academia. The companion 20th Workshop on Thermophysics in Microgravity will be held on Monday, March 21.
* * The abstract submittal deadline has been extended to February 8, 2016 * * Presentation submittal deadline: March 11, 2016 The Workshop Planning Committee requests that prospective presentation authors submit abstracts on topics related to spacecraft thermal control in technical subjects that include: --Advanced Thermal Control Hardware Advanced Radiators Composite Materials Cryogenic Hardware and Cryocooler Technology Heat Switches Heaters, Thermostats, and Controllers Louvers MEMS Thermal Technology Multilayer Insulation and Barriers Thermoelectric Coolers Phase Change Materials and Heat Sinks Thermal Control Paints and Coatings Thermal Straps Variable Emittance Surfaces --Spacecraft Thermal Control Design Electronic Box Thermal Design Interface Conduction Software Experiences Thermal Environments Thermal Margins Thermal Surface Finishes and Degradation --Advanced Analysis Methods and Techniques Techniques in Thermal Modeling Thermal Numerical Codes Thermal Model Development --Thermal Test Methods and Applications Thermal Model Correlation Thermal Test Facilities Verification of Thermal Requirements --Lessons Learned in Spacecraft Thermal Control Flight Anomaly Resolution Test Observations Design Lessons Heat Pipe Technology Cryogenic Heat Pipes --Heat Pipe Working Fluids Looped Heat Pipes Miniature Heat Pipes Pumped Fluid Loops --Thermal Control and Test in Emerging Space Technology CubeSats High-altitude Aircraft High-volume Builds Abstracts should be limited to 200 words in length; present new and significant applications; include lessons learned, if applicable; and focus on sharing relevant technical information with the aerospace thermal community. Abstracts, including paper title, author name(s), mailing address, telephone number, and email address should be submitted no later than February 8, 2016. Abstracts are also requested for the companion 20th Workshop on Thermophysics in Microgravity to be held on Monday, March 21, 2016. This year a panel discussion on Lessons Learned in Thermal Testing is planned. Volunteers for this panel discussion may email stcw.mailbox@aero.org. Abstracts and questions may be submitted to Ryan Butt and Scott Flueckiger at stcw.mailbox@aero.org.
