The conference theme for AGen2016 is "Justice and Sustainability".

As the aging of the population continues worldwide we see several key issues impacting the lives of the elderly. In terms of Justice, the aged face ongoing challenges associated with a loss of social, political and familial power. As elders face changes in their health and workforce participation, they also face higher risks of being abandoned or dismissed from the workings of familial and social activities. Social isolation, crime victimisation, abuse and institutionalisation are all issues that impact the ability of elders to achieve equity and maintain status within society. Sustainability has long been a central theme in aging research. How do we care for and support an ever growing number of elders in our society and families? Health care, disability, economic stability, loneliness and depression are but a few of the issues that need to be addressed in the coming years. This is particularly the case for middle and less developed nations which currently lack the infrastructure to provide for their growing population of elders. Research focusing on equitable access to social resources and an obligation to recognise the dignity of aging are in line with the conference theme. AGen2016 welcomes all papers that touch on these issues and the broader issues of aging. We particularly welcome papers and posters that use data from the Asia-Pacific region but the focus of the conferences in on international issues related to justice and sustainability for our aging population worldwide.

We hope and expect the 2016 conference themes to inspire a number of research avenues, and look forward to discussing ideas, findings and synergies, in this International Academic Forum.

Abstracts of no more than 250 words should be submitted by April 15, 2016.
