The call for papers is included below.

Recently, wireless energy harvesting and transfer technology has gained prominence in the wireless communication research community. Wireless powered communication networks (WPCNets) are envisioned as the natural application of this technology to future networks. Many research issues arise in this context. Schemes and solutions developed for traditional wireless networks without or with other forms of energy harvesting have to be revisited in view of the deployment of WPCNets. In light of the rising prominence of these topics, this Workshop will focus on, but will not be limited to, the following subjects of interest:

- Network architecture and protocol design for wireless energy harvesting and transfer
- Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT)
- Secure communications with wireless energy harvesting
- Data and energy beamforming
- Opportunistic wireless energy harvesting strategies for cognitive radio networks
- Massive MIMO systems with wireless energy harvesting
- Relay-based wireless energy harvesting systems
- MAC protocols for wireless energy harvesting and transfer
- Economics of wireless energy and data transmission
- Self-sustainable transmissions and network architecture
- Wireless energy and information routing protocols
- Mobile charger routing and assignment
- Scheduling and optimization of both users for energy transfer and of data packets
- Wireless sensor networks with wireless energy harvesting and transfer
- Heterogeneous and small-cell networks with wireless energy harvesting and transfer
- Testbeds of wireless energy harvesting and transfer
- Hardware design and prototyping for SWIPT applications
- Interference aided wireless energy harvesting
- Waveform design and optimization for wireless power transfer
- Optimal Control for wireless energy transfer and harvesting
- Wireless power enabled machine-to-machine (M2M) and device-to-device (D2D) communications
- Resource allocation and scheduling algorithms for wireless powered communication networks
- Optimal wireless power transfer enabled transceiver architectures
- Orchestration of in-band and out-band wireless energy harvesting (Classic/Hybrid approaches)
- Standardization (e.g, extensions of Qi and Rezence)

Submission Guidelines:

The workshop accepts only novel, previously unpublished papers. Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a standard IEEE conference style paper to this workshop through the EDAS submission system. All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of seven (7) printed pages (minimum 10-point font) including figures, with additional charges of $100 for 7th page. All papers selected for publication and presented at the workshop will be included in the IEEE WCNC proceedings and IEEE digital library.

Papers should be submitted for review through EDAS at:
